With Bentley's 100th anniversary looming next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition Mulsanne. It pays tribute to the company's founder father, W.O. Bentley contains a piece from one of his cars.
The special model can be ordered with a regular Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed or Mulsanne Long Wheelbase. It was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley owned by W.O. used as his personal car. Its influence can be felt throughout the interior which includes the Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that features an open display window that displays a piece of the original crankshaft from the 8 Litre car that is displayed inside.
Other highlights include a chrome application running backwards along the side of the car with an air vent that is photoetched that features W.O. The signature of the owner front grille designed on the 1930s-appropriate Onyx color of the limited edition, and an optional chrome application that runs around the lower spoilers, left and right. The front grille has a unique design, with chrome-colored shells replacing the body-color mesh of the Mulsanne. It also features the Flying B Logo.
Key boxes engraved with the Bentley wings can hold two keys and is adorned with black flock lining, while key pouches can be purchased to complement or stand out from the key box. The commemorative set also includes a custom 1:18 scale model of the 8 Litre and the paperweight that flies with the letter 'B and an illustrated brochure that includes images that have never before been seen of the original 1930s 8 Litre.
The Bentley Wing Key Box
This accessory is ideal for Bentley owners and enthusiasts. It comes with a distinctive keybox that is embossed with Bentley wings. The item comes in a gift box containing tissue paper. It makes a great present for Christmas, birthdays or any other special occasion.
The key fob's metal-to-metal knurling mimics the texture of the interior including the temperature controls and shift knob. "We wanted the knurling's appearance to be as consistent and elegant as we could," says Van Braekel. "It was also important to ensure that the fob was with a distinct size and shape."
Bentley Mulliner customers can specify any color in the Bentley portfolio for their Bacalar and any combination of hides, veneers or bespoke embroidery. Nearly 400,000 stitches provide Bentley's signature diamond-indiamond quilting throughout the entire cabin. The mood lighting can be adapted to suit different moods.
The standard exterior features illuminated treadplates as well as brushed silver clocks and new 22in wheels with self-leveling Bentley logos. Customers can also have a custom Bentley logo laser-etched on the rear fixing, paying homage to the 1930 8 Litre W.O. The car was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre W.O. The Bentley Wing Key Pouches
